Vara Varavithya
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vara has been actively involved in high performance computing in Thailand. He has co-found the ThaiGrid National Project. At the KMITNB, the high performance computing group, under his supervision, pursues research problems in the areas of high performance computing, grid computing, and networking.
With the Faculty of Engineering, he had served as assistant dean in information from 1998-2002 and as associate dean in research and information from 2002-2006. Currently he is the head of the Department of Electrical Engineering. He has been in the national subcommittee for e-industry as well as in subcommittee for the developments of many stages of the UNINET. Vara is a senior member of IEEE.

Dr. Vara Varavithya is presently a faculty member at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology North Bangkok. He is responsible for courses in computer engineering. His research interests include a development of high performance applications for grid computing environment. He has also involved in implementing software engineering discipline in many industries.
